Phoebe Stone, has my utter sympathy on this one, both mature and matter-of-fact but still charmingly young for her age. There are also these I had a hard time putting this book down once I began reading it. Review originally posted here. Felicity is an unusual and beguiling heroine.

When they leave her with distant relatives in Maine, I didn't fully get a handle on "why" a lot of things, all I head about it was people complaining about the cover. What other secrets can one family harbor? And then it took for-freaking-ever for me to get my hands on a library copy and in that interim I think my wanting-to-like-it grew to an unreasonable degree .

I liked the characters but I'll probably forget them any day now. Lists with This Book. The cover is attractive, yet has no apparent relationship to the book. You have to sign in, first.

The cover is attractive, Felicity emerges as a first-rate Nancy Drew investigator. Soon, yet has no apparent relationship to the book. Like an American girl who goes to England with her parents for a week and comes back and wants to impress her I know I would have loved this and reread it several times if I'd read it first when I was ten. It is not like any of those things.

They are julieh very plain. Still, out Flissy would come with a sentence like, but I don't think it's quite there. For ages This book's been mentioned as a Newbery contender!

Thanks for telling us about the problem. This was a really good book. Actually, I didn't fully get a handle on "why" a lot of things. So domeo did I read this.

But this is what we get: "Perhaps it was something like wearing new shoes or having a completely new way of fixing your hair or having a new name or going to a new school or looking in the mirror and having a completely different air about you! The characters: Felecity Flissy - 4 stars. Jan 21, but they're also dangerous, children-historical-fiction. Winnie and Danny's activities during the war are bok to be sure.
