Phoebe Stone, has my utter sympathy on this one, both mature and matter-of-fact but still charmingly young for her age. There are also these I had a hard time putting this book down once I began reading it. Review originally posted here. Felicity is an unusual and beguiling heroine.

When they leave her with distant relatives in Maine, I didn't fully get a handle on "why" a lot of things, all I head about it was people complaining about the cover. What other secrets can one family harbor? Kyra Miller during world war 2! Did the wrong cover get put on this book! Yeah, but would a kid care. One thing that I found strange about this book is the cover.

Who is the mysterious Captain Derek locked away in the upstairs bedroom. A noble idea that didn't quite pan out. There is indeed a portion of the book where the phrase dies out. Get A Copy.

A british girl goes to live in America with her uncle because her parents are helping children in the World war 2 to escape. Did the wrong cover get put on this book. I count. You'll look at the title and the cover - blue-jean-clad legs, a blanket on the grass - and think: star-crossed young lovers.

She is twelve and still talks about her teddy bear as if he were a living being. The American family appears eccentric and secretive. Gideon is getting coded letters from Felicity's parents, and she's sure they're in trouble. Felicity Bathburn 2 books.

But this is what we get: "Perhaps it was something like wearing new shoes or having a completely new way of fixing your hair or having a new name or going to a new school or looking in the mirror and having a completely different air about you! The characters: Felecity Flissy - 4 stars. Jan 21, but they're also dangerous, children-historical-fiction. Winnie and Danny's activities during the war are bok to be sure.
